Much like with Greenspan, one wishes Friedman lived what he preached. First of, he was the architect of government withholding income taxes. And then he says (see http://www.reason.com/news/show/29691.html for the whole interview):
“I have no apologies for it, but I really wish we hadn’t found it necessary and I wish there were some way of abolishing withholding now.”
Duh, Milton, that’s not how it works with governments.
Second, he was a proponent of central banking and “controlled” increase of the amount of money. My question is: how does centrally-planned financial segment fit into the free market?

Wow, this guy really hit it on the head here. When people are allowed to look out after their own self interest then we as a society will all benefit.
